Health Education and Community Programmes
ELCI delivers preventive health education through schools, families and community-based activities. Our programmes promote health awareness, encourage positive health behaviours and equip people with practical knowledge to recognise health risks and seek timely care.
School Health Education Programme
ELCI works with schools to make preventive health education an integral part of children’s learning and development.
Through age appropriate, interactive and practical learning sessions, pupils are equipped with knowledge and skills to understand their bodies, adopt healthy behaviours, recognise common health risks and know when and how to seek help.
Our approach encourages continuous health education within the school environment, helping children become informed, confident and health-conscious individuals.
Maternal and Child Health Awareness Programme
ELCI promotes maternal and child health through practical, accessible health education for expectant mothers, parents and caregivers. Our activities focus on maternal wellbeing, newborn care, child nutrition, immunisation, hygiene, childhood illness prevention and the early recognition of danger signs.
Through community engagement and health awareness sessions, we encourage informed health decisions, timely healthcare seeking and healthier outcomes for mothers and children.
Community Health Outreach Programme
ELCI engages with local communities to promote preventive healthcare, improve health awareness and make essential health information more accessible. Through community outreach activities, interactive health education sessions and awareness campaigns, we address relevant health concerns affecting children, families and other community members.
Our outreach activities focus on disease prevention, personal hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, early recognition of danger signs and the importance of seeking timely healthcare. We work towards empowering individuals and families with practical knowledge to make informed health decisions and build healthier communities.
Nursing Education and Professional Development
ELCI supports the advancement of nursing knowledge and professional development through accessible health education, knowledge sharing and practical learning opportunities. Through the NurseMaryJaneSpeaks Nursing Classroom, we provide structured educational content designed to strengthen clinical knowledge, promote safe nursing practices and support continuous professional learning.
Our goal is to contribute to a knowledgeable, competent and confident nursing workforce that delivers safe, “evidence informed” and compassionate care across healthcare settings.
Digital Health Education and Innovation
ELCI embraces digital innovation to expand access to reliable, understandable and practical health education. We are developing digital platforms that make health knowledge more accessible to children, families, healthcare professionals and communities across different languages and learning environments.
Through ELCI Learn Africa, we are building a multilingual health education application designed to make preventive health knowledge accessible to diverse African audiences. We are also developing NurseMaryJaneSpeaks AI Studio, an innovative platform designed to support the creation of engaging educational videos and digital health content.
These initiatives reflect our commitment to using technology, creativity and innovation to promote health literacy, strengthen prevention and extend the reach of life saving health information.
