Behind healthier families are women who help nourish communities.

πŸŒΎπŸ’š INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RURAL WOMEN | OCTOBER 15

Honouring the Women Who Nourish Our Communities πŸŒΎπŸ’š

On the International Day of Rural Women, we celebrate the women whose contributions to agriculture, food security, family nutrition and community development help build healthier futures. At Every Life Counts Initiative, we believe that empowering rural women means strengthening families, improving community wellbeing and creating brighter futures for our children.

When rural women thrive, communities grow stronger. Every life counts.

Today, we celebrate rural women the farmers, food producers, caregivers and community builders whose contributions sustain families and support food security.

Their work connects directly to the health of our children, the nutrition on our tables and the wellbeing of our communities.

Yet, rural women also deserve better access to healthcare, health education, clean water, resources and opportunities to thrive.

At Every Life Counts Initiative (ELCI), we recognise that healthier communities require more than healthcare alone. They require informed families, good nutrition, empowered women and sustainable community development.

Today, let us celebrate rural women not only for what they give to society, but also by advocating for the support, dignity and opportunities they deserve.

When we support the women who nourish our communities, we help build healthier futures for everyone. πŸ’šπŸŒ
