CLEAN HANDS, HEALTHIER CHILDREN, STRONGER COMMUNITIES. ๐
Sometimes, one of the simplest ways to protect a child’s health begins with soap and clean water.
Handwashing with soap helps prevent the spread of infections, yet this simple habit must be taught, practised and reinforced both at home and in school.
As healthcare professionals, parents, teachers and caregivers, we all have a role to play in making hand hygiene part of everyday life.
Children learn not only from what we tell them but also from what they see us do. When we demonstrate healthy habits, we give them practical lessons they can carry into adulthood.
Through Every Life Counts Initiative (ELCI), we believe that preventive health education should begin early, reach children where they learn and grow, and extend into the homes and communities where they live.
Today, let us remind our children to wash their hands with soap and clean water:
๐งผ Before preparing or eating food.
๐งผ After using the toilet.
๐งผ Whenever their hands are visibly dirty.
These small actions can make a meaningful difference to individual and community health.
Prevention begins with knowledge. Healthy habits begin with practice. Every life counts. ๐๐
